The Event
On behalf of Virgin Active, Hausmann Communications approached SENSE to manage the production of the launch of the newly built Virgin Active Health Clubs, the first of their kind on Australian shores.
The Idea
The Melbourne event saw Richard Branson waving to the public out the side of a Virgin Active branded tram travelling down busy Bourke St towards the club. As he stepped off onto the red carpet to meet the media, a group of flash-mob dancers dressed in Virgin Active workout gear strut their stuff to loud boom box music.
Sydney was no less dramatic or fun with a relay swimming race being held in the club’s pool. Branson & Co. raced some of Australia’s top swimmers, such as Geoff Huegill, while Ian Thorpe commentated. Track cycling champion Anna Meares led a spin class while Hi-5’s Charlie Delaney kept the kids entertained with a dance class.
SENSE managed the production requirements as well as producing an edited video highlights package of both events.

Success
The event received very wide media exposure via all the commercial television networks, 7, 9 and 10, as well as numerous online, print and radio interviews and articles.
